Still Alive..

If anyone is wondering, the Krull family is still here. We have been very blessed this summer with lots of fun things to do and exciting trips to take. We are just getting back from our 2nd beach trip. I know, I know...

I will post some pics from that trip tomorrow. I have to admit that I am very ready for life to settle down. It seems as if we have gone non-stop since May. But it's like I told Erik, summer is only here for a few months and the kids are only young once. So, instead of working in the yard and around the house tonight, we went swimming!

Our Garden of Love

I don't think we can officially claim the name Garden of Love, as that is what we named Casey and Keith Anderson's garden before they were married. The Garden that Love grew :) he he. Anyway, this is our third year to have a garden. Each year we get a little more adventurous and add different vegetables. This year we added corn, green beans and eggplant for the first time. We can't believe how the corn has just taken off. It is doing really well. We have had more rain this year than in the past so it has been a bit tricky!

As we were driving to the lake this past weekend I did not notice homes or cars. What I did notice, however, was other people's gardens. Oh the envy I felt upon seeing a massive home garden with rows and rows of each vegetable. What I would not do for such a sight in my own yard. Maybe one day. For now I will be content with our garden--the garden that all four of us have worked hard to create. Now, if we could only get inside the house without eating all the raspberries and cherry tomatoes first...

Lake Trip

We took a trip to the Ky Lake this past weekend. We stayed with the Williams-over in the hood- :). We had a great time and the girls did not want to leave. I forget how little they remember from year to year. We went several times last year, but little memories can only store so much. Lucy loved her life jacket. She was so funny! She cried and cried when we took it off of her. So very unlike the vivid memories of her screaming her lungs out when she had to wear one last year!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the men in my life!

First and foremost to my loving husband; my best friend. Erik truely is the best father ever. He was perfectly chosen by God to be the father to my children. He loves them unconditionally and with all his heart. His life revolves around them. He teaches them how little ladies are to be treated and loved and they know through him what a true Prince Charming is.

My own Father deserves praise and kudos for being a great daddy, too! He is the cornerstone and rock for our family. He is a bold, but humbled, man of Christ. Thank you Dad for always showing and teaching us the Way. I love you.

To my grandfather who has meant so much to so many. I love you and thank you for the Christian way in which you lead your life.

Last but not least is my father-in-law. Thank you, Merl, for welcoming me into your family some 13 years ago. You are a great, Christian man and wonderful leader. The example you set for all of us is to be admired. I appreciate all that you did to raise such a wonderful son. Erik learned through you how to be a man and he learned from you what being a father was all about. Thank you and I love you.

Crab Races at the Marina

As a general rule, our family does not eat out. I wish I could say it was because we try to save money, but it is really because Ella and Lucy are the worst diners ever! Since they were born neither of them have been good eaters. We've decided that Ella just does not like food and Lucy is rather hit or miss. Some days she eats, some days she does not. I wish I had that problem.

So our last night at the beach we were all a bit stir crazy and really wanted to venture out of the condo. Erik, my mom, me and the girls pressed our luck and decided to try Calypso Joe's. As expected, the food was ok (not nearly as good at the shrimp or crab legs we made in the condo) but the atmosphere was great. There was no wait since we got there early and the girls had a blast. VERY kid friendly. It is located on a marina so there was a lot to do. At the end of our dinner they had hermit crab races. Both Ella and Lucy each won a race. Boy! Were they excited.

Reality Has Set In

Here are some pictures from our trip. Being home is quite bitter sweet. As we were making the 10 hour trip home I could not wait to get back home. Now that we are back and reality has sunk in, I wish we were back at the beach. It was so nice not having the distractions of everyday life. I was able to devote 100% of my time and efforts towards to the girls. They had my constant attention. It seems I allow myself to be distracted too easily by everyday tasks. My prayer is that I will be able to stay focused on the job God has given me. Ella and Lucy are such blessings to my life. I don't know what I would be without them.

Contest Winner???

I just had to add this picture today. I am rearranging all my pictures on my hard drive in an effort to make this blogging thing easier. I came across this picture that Erik's dad took last summer at the lake. I think I may send this picture in to some of those corny magazines. ;)

All Good Things Must Come to an End!

This is the last day of our beach trip. The girls had a blast and really did not want to come home. Erik and my Dad flew down for the last couple of days. Ella and Lucy were very happy to have their Daddy there. I have had a wonderful trip and am looking forward to the return trip at the end of the month. Quite spoiled, I know....

Inspired.....Nah, Bored!

I have been inspired. Better yet, I am bored out of my mind. The girls and I are on a great trip to Gulf Shores with my mom this week. The girls needed a nap so I stayed in the room with them while Nanny went to bask in the sunlight. It's now been 3.5 hours and Lucy is still asleep. I have no cable TV, forgot the headphones to my Zune and I just really, really don't want to work on either of the 4 outfits I brought to smock.

This blog will be my feable attempt to join the cyber journaling community and hopefully keep connected to friends and family along the journey. I hope you enjoy keeping up with our family through these pictures and commentaries.

Until later I will be here, trying to keep my Head Above Water.
